Apple's free iTunes software can be turned into iPhone unlock software to unlock your iPhone from AT&T permanently but it only works if your iPhone is registered for unlocking through our paid unlock service (UnlockStreak Activations for iTunes). Once your iPhone is registered for unlocking, connect your handset to iTunes and our unlock service unlocks your handset directly through the iTunes software. Once finished, you can use your iPhone unlocked on any network that uses SIM cards. For example, unlock it from AT&T to use it on T-Mobile or on any other network service provider worldwide. By using our unlock service through iTunes, the warranty will be maintained because there is no alteration of the software on the phone. The phone will stay unlocked permanently regardless of firmware and software updates.
This works only for the iPhone locked to AT&T, USA. It does not unlock the iPhone locked to a different carrier.
What Is iPhone Unlocking?
When you purchase an iPhone from AT&T, it comes locked to the carrier so it works only with their specific SIM card. The only reason to lock the phone is to ensure you use their service for an extended period of time. If you attempt to use an alternative SIM card in a locked phone, you will receive an error message such as "Wrong SIM Card" or “Different SIM detected. Please connect to iTunes” or similar. iPhone unlocking enables you to use your mobile phone with a SIM card from any carrier. Once the device is unlocked, the error message is removed and you are free to use the SIM card of your choice.
The UnlockStreak Activation for iTunes unlocks your AT&T locked iPhone permanently. There is no jailbreaking involved. It works for all firmware and baseband versions. Your phone will never relock even if you update or wipe the device. It is required that you connect your handset to iTunes and use our unlock service, which unlocks your handset directly through iTunes.

Part 1/2: Prepare For iPhone Unlocking
Before You Start
You will need a USB cable to connect the phone to the computer.
Check that your iPhone is locked to AT&T. Our unlock service works only on Apple devices locked to AT&T. If you are in doubt, send your IMEI to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will check the carrier for free before you order the unlock. The IMEI can be found engraved on the back metal case (original iPhone) or on the SIM tray (all other iPhone models).
Part 2/2: Unlock Instructions
After you’ve received the UnlockStreak Activation notification by E-Mail from us, install the latest version of iTunes on your MAC or PC.

Download the latest iTunes version:
Open iTunes on your MAC or PC and verify that you have Internet connectivity.
Connect your iPhone to iTunes by USB cable. Update your iPhone to the latest firmware. In case your iPhone has never been activated or connected to iTunes, you might get a (red) error message. In that case, unplug and replug the phone.
Back up your iPhone:
You can do the unlocking either with an original AT&T SIM card, or with a non-AT&T SIM card, or without any SIM card inserted. If you insert a non-AT&T SIM card before the unlocking, iTunes will display an unlock confirmation message once your iPhone is unlocked. If you use the original AT&T SIM card or no SIM card at all, iTunes will not display any unlock confirmation message but your phone will still be unlocked.

Restore your iPhone and iTunes will run the UnlockStreak Activation to unlock your phone. To restore your backup, follow one of these steps:
After the unlock process has finished, disconnect your iPhone, wait 10 seconds, then reconnect to iTunes. Finished! Your iPhone is now unlocked for use on any compatible network. It will never relock even if you update or wipe the phone. Enjoy mobile freedom.
